The Richland County Conservation Commission approved the purchase, using conservation funds, based on an appraisal that was procured by Richland County. This property is located to the South of Hunting Creek Farms on Saddlebrook Lane and to the North of Air Base Road. The property is in the middle of two properties bought by Richland County almost a decade ago. Horrell Hill Partners declined offers to sell this property to loggers and developers in hopes that Richland County would acquire the property for the benefit of all residents of Richland County. Five Richland County Council Members who attended today’s meeting of the Richland County Council Development and Services Committee voted unanimously to acquire the property. The contract for the county to purchase this property has been approved by the County Attorney and is waiting for approval from Richland County Council.
